New Duckie Art Added

Yop, that’s right! I’ve uploaded UchinanchuDuckie’s newest Purity fanart! This one is Sydnie, and you can view it on her page in her gallery! It’s just fantastic, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks so much, Duckie!!! <does the Duckie Dance>

On my side of things, life’s been pretty rough on us of late. For those who have asked, my brother is doing much, much better. He’s actually going back to work, and the doctors have been amazed at his recovery. My dad’s not been well, though, and that’s been pretty heavily on my mind. I mean, he’s my daddy, right? I love him very much.

I don’t know how many people actually know this because it’s not something that I’ve really talked about much, even in the forum, I don’t believe, but I’ve been diagnosed as anemic, and because of that (and everything else) I’ve been feeling pretty well out of sorts of late (which accounts for the reason that my updates haven’t been ‘normal’ for me). I do apologize for that, and that is also the main reason that I thought I’d let you know. Things are slowly looking better, though. The treatments that I’ve gotten are helping immensely, so I’m hoping that everything gets back to normal really soon. In that vein, look forward to a new Christmas oneshot, the rest of Avouchment, a oneshot that will coincide with a certain chapter of Avouchment, and, of course, my original projects that I’ve been working on, as well.

That said, I also wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased my ebooks! I’ve recently sold my 6000th one—something that just floored me, and I hope you’re enjoying those as much as I enjoyed penning them! Thank you for showing your support because I appreciate it more than you realize. It’s not so much the money that matters but the idea that people enjoy the tales I write enough to purchase them that just boggles my mind. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

With all my love and best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season,

Sueric

  1. Yayz! New Duckie art! And it’s Sydnie! Yay! Ironically, in my search for excerpts for ‘Famous Last Words’ in the forum, I wound up rereading Purity 2…3…4…and, now, I’m on 5. So, this fanart is right on time. Gonna go see that right away!

Wow, I’m sorry to hear about all you’re going through and I totally understand your plight with anemia, being anemic, myself. It drains me physically to the point that it’s pretty common for me to take more than one nap in a non-productive day and sometimes I get uncontrollable shivers out of nowhere (even in heated rooms, for crying out loud). It’s a friggin’ pain!! In my case, my anemia came from the meds I’m on and it makes me wonder if my symptoms aren’t more intense than others, because of that.

I’m so glad to hear about your brother! That’s great news! I kept him in my prayers and it’s great to get such a cool update!

WOW! OMG! 6000 ebooks sold? That’s AWESOME, Sue! Hopefully, I’ll be adding to that count soon; I REALLY want my aunt to read some of your stories soon–she’ll LOURVE them, I just KNOW it! But, I gotta say, as much as I admire you as a writer, I don’t know if I could take the pressure of being so well known. I think it would freak me out. It’s just, folks can be so pushy and persistent (be them fans or anonymous jerks with nothing better to do than search for stories in hopes of finding points to trash). Then there’s the fear of disappointing everyone…well, as I’ve said before, being a perfectionist sux… Then again, I’ve only been writing since July so maybe I’ll give it a year before i start hyperventilating. LOL.

Well, Merry Christmas! See you in the forum!

  2. Well, if there’s one thing I’ve learned is that things are only as bad as you let them be, and I actively choose never to let things bother me. I refuse to lose sleep over ignorance, and I refuse to lower myself to respond to anything that will only be twisted around to suit whatever opinions people have of me.

Writing is an art, and art is beautiful. There will be those who criticize everything, and to that end, they’re welcome to do so. I don’t try to do anything but write the things I want to write, and if someone doesn’t like it or “is disappointed” then I’d say that they are welcome not to read what I’ve written. To be blunt, I don’t really care what others think as long as I’m happy with what I’ve done, and that’s the bottom line 🙂

  3. I love your outlook on criticism, Sue. Wow…I can’t wait till I’m that confident in my skills. That is, if I even have any to begin with. Good advice, as always! Lata! 😉
