Sooooooooooo I finally got off my lazy butt and figured I’d update … Let’s start with the big stuff, eh?

Avouchment is finished.  Makes me sad.  I love Griffin, so it’ll be hard to move on …

okay, or maybe not so hard …

The first chapters of both Purity 8 and Purity 9 are posted on Media Miner.  Purity 8 is going to be fairly intense to write, so I figured I’d break tradition and post some of 9 as I go so that I can trade off if I need to.  Don’t worry.  There isn’t much in the way of spoilers, so you’re good to go …

So I just uploaded two new fanarts on the fanart lineart page.  They were done by the very talented sozoteki on deviantart, and I’m very happy to share them here, too 🙂   One is an image of Ryomaru and Nezumi, the other is a sketch of Mikio, so please do check them out!

A lot of people have emailed of late to ask me where I’ve been.  I suppose that I just got sidetracked.  I’ll explain.  Back in February, my first “girl” died.  Abby wasn’t that old: only around 8 years or so, and she was my first dog.  Seriously, when my husband brought her home, I confess I wasn’t much of a dog person, but Abby just . . . well, there was something about her.  Anyway, when she got sick, we took her to the vet, but she was gone the next day.  I’ve been pretty heartbroken over this, and while I still have Bear and Teddy, I doubt that anything can fill the place in my heart that Abby did for so long.

So the day that the husband went in to bring her home so that we could bury her nearby, he also brought home four orphaned puppies, too.  We didn’t know if we could raise them, given that they were infants at the time (less than a day old, I think), but the alternative of having them put to sleep was bad, too.  After all, they were just too little to stand a chance, and the odds of successfully raising puppies that young by hand are not so good.  But we had to try, and I rather think that it’s been quite cathartic for me.

By some miracle that I’ll never truly understand, though, our girl, Bear (Abby’s daughter) took those puppies in and made them hers, and by even greater miracle, she began to lactate a few days after we brought the babies home.  I’ll never know exactly how it happened or why, but I know that maybe there really is a balance in the world.  To have lost those babies would have just killed me, especially after having just lost Abby, too.  So I suppose that it’s proof that life does go on.

So I’ve lately gotten back to writing.  I figured, though, that after this time, I’ll just finish Avouchment and post it together (it will take about a week to post the rest of the chapters at one chapter per day).  Then I want to get a few chapters of Purity 8 behind me before posting those because the opening of that story is extremely important.  In the meantime, though, there are chapters of Purity 9 posted (don’t worry; there won’t really be any spoilers to worry about regarding Purity 8, so it is safe to read both.).  It’s just that Purity 8 is going to be extremely hard to write for me.  The subject matter is far more intense, but hopefully it will come out right in the end, too . . .

Soooooooooo after weeks of procrastination, I added three linearts to the Fanart [lineart] gallery, all done by BENGbeng!  Enjoy those!!

I also added three new images to Uchinanchu Duckie’s page: one of Nezumi, one of Bas and Sydnie, and one that was a silly challenge on DA but it amused me, so there you go 🙂   Those can be seen on her page.

Some might have noticed, too, that I also updated Desideratum *gasp!!*  Please don’t ask about future updates though.  I’ll update it when I get the urge to, and even then, I highly doubt that many people will enjoy the next chapter, so there’s that, too …

Anyway, back to the ol’ grind.  I’m working on finishing up Avouchment, so look forward to that!

Happy birthday to me!!

I don’t know how many of you noticed.  I’ve been editing Purity 2: Defiance pretty heavily.  This isn’t the same as the small “fix this, fix that” type edits I normally do.  This is a pretty extensive edit.  I started reading the story the other day for kicks and realized that I was officially underwhelmed with the project.  I simply didn’t have any real, concrete memories of the story, and in my mind, that rather spoke volumes.  I encourage those who read and enjoyed the story to give it another read-through, either as I repost it or after I create a new PDF of it.

In other news, I plan on posting a special oneshot on Sunday (my birthday) along with a very, very special fanart by uchinachuduckie.  I hope you all enjoy them.  They give some rather interesting insight that you may not have had before.

For now, though, I’m off to finish editing another chapter of Toga’s story.  I’ve been trying to get at least one chapter done a day, along with my regular writing, so wish me luck!

On my side of things, life’s been pretty rough on us of late. For those who have asked, my brother is doing much, much better. He’s actually going back to work, and the doctors have been amazed at his recovery. My dad’s not been well, though, and that’s been pretty heavily on my mind. I mean, he’s my daddy, right? I love him very much.

I don’t know how many people actually know this because it’s not something that I’ve really talked about much, even in the forum, I don’t believe, but I’ve been diagnosed as anemic, and because of that (and everything else) I’ve been feeling pretty well out of sorts of late (which accounts for the reason that my updates haven’t been ‘normal’ for me). I do apologize for that, and that is also the main reason that I thought I’d let you know. Things are slowly looking better, though. The treatments that I’ve gotten are helping immensely, so I’m hoping that everything gets back to normal really soon. In that vein, look forward to a new Christmas oneshot, the rest of Avouchment, a oneshot that will coincide with a certain chapter of Avouchment, and, of course, my original projects that I’ve been working on, as well.

That said, I also wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased my ebooks! I’ve recently sold my 6000th one—something that just floored me, and I hope you’re enjoying those as much as I enjoyed penning them! Thank you for showing your support because I appreciate it more than you realize. It’s not so much the money that matters but the idea that people enjoy the tales I write enough to purchase them that just boggles my mind. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
